WASHBURN and CARIBOU – Arthur E. Berglind, 76, died Feb. 9, 2005, at Bangor, following a brief illness. He was born June 18, 1928, at West Jemptland, the son of John R. and Esther (Adamson) Berglind. Arthur was a resident of Washburn for many years before moving to Caribou. He was employed by numerous area potato growers and was also employed by McCain Foods in Easton. He attended the First Baptist Church in New Sweden. Arthur married Phoebe (Nedeau) Berglind Dec. 23, 1950. Surviving in addition to his wife of Caribou, are one daughter, Kim Palmer of Elizabeth, Pa.; three brothers, Albert Berglind of North Carolina, Bernard Berglind of Fairfax, Va. and Carl Berglind of Worcester, Mass.; three grandchildren, Regina Winkleman and her husband, Brett, David Mehrmann and Maria Palmer; two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Vaughn Mehrmann; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, 7-9 p.m. Friday and from noon Saturday until time of services. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, from the chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bruce Blakney, pastor, officiating. Spring interment will take place in the West Jemptland Cemetery.
