GREENBUSH – As quietly as he passed through life, Arthur passed from it on Nov. 16, 2003, in the privacy of his home in the presence of close family members. He was born June 26, 1938, in Milford, the fifth child of Everard and Alice (Sanborn) Haskell. Arthur attended Milford schools and was employed at the Old Town shoe shops, the Ounegan Woolen Mill, and innumerable construction projects. For over 30 years he was a proud member of Local Union No. 1377. Arthur especially enjoyed fishing and was an expert at frying up crispy brook trout treats for friends, who will think of him happily casting his line in some well-stocked brook in eternity. He is survived by two brothers, Leon Haskell of Olamon, and Lawrence Haskell of Millinocket; two sisters, Betty Collins of Bradley, and Barbara Whitmore of Old Town; 17 nieces and nephews; a longtime friend, Elwin LeBlanc; and a canine friend, “Henry”. He was predeceased by his father, Everard, in 1975; his mother, Alice, in 1984; a brother, Franklin; three sisters, Clara Haskell, Lila McCullen, and Sharon DeRoche; and a nephew, Raish Peavey Haskell. At his request there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Raish Peavey Haskell Memorial Lab, care of Eastern Maine Charities, P.O. Box 404, Bangor, ME 04402-0404.
