BANGOR and ROBBINSTON Audrey R. Geagan, 71, wife of the late Ronald Geagan, died Aug. 28, 2007, at a Bangor hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 22, 1935, in Calais, the daughter of Raymond and Vergie (Stanhope) Johnson. Audrey graduated from Calais High School in 1952 and Husson College with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She taught high school at Wilton Academy and Brewer High School, substituted at John Bapst High School and taught adult education at Old Town High School. She then went to work as the assistant manager for Standard Shoe Co., until she was offered a job at Bangor High School as an education technician III, and stayed until her retirement in 1998. Audrey was a member of the Phi Rho Zeta Sorority. She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Todd and Sharon of Bangor, and Sean and Kimberly of Bucksport; one granddaughter, Kelli; two grandsons, Jonathan and Joshua; lifelong friend, Ruth McNutt of Robbinston; many other special relatives and friends in Bangor and Robbinston; and her dog, Oscar. Also special thanks to the girls at Ross Manor and Becky, Debbie and Eva at Easter Maine Medical Center. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bangor, with the Rev. Thomas Lequin, pastor, presider. Interment will be held immediately after at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the interment at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor.
