PALMYRA and VAN BUREN Aurore P. Ouellette, 103, died Aug. 19, 2006, at her Main Street residence in Palmyra. She was born Sept. 18, 1902, in Hamlin, a daughter of George and Elise (Thibodeau) Paradis. She graduated from high school in St. Agatha and attended Presque Isle Normal School. After the death of her husband, she moved to Connecticut in the 1950s and was employed at St. Francis Hospital until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Pittsfield. Aurore was predeceased by her husband, Patrick in 1947; as well as an infant daughter and a grandson. She was the beloved mother of nine children, Martha Jacobsen of Palmyra, with whom she made her home, Delcia Buchta, Verna Parent and Melvin Ouellette, all of Connecticut; Robertine Carmichael and Rachel LaPerle, both of New Hampshire, Marie Swazey, Arlene Bowers and Daniel Ouellette, all of Maine; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at St. Bruno/St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren, with the Rev. Fr. Raymond Arsenault officiating. Burial will be at St. Bruno Cemetery, Van Buren. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to St. Agnes Parochial School, Detroit Avenue, Pittsfield, ME 04967.
