BELMONT – Avis B. Davis, 57, former wife of Donald C. Davis, died Nov. 25, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 16, 1949, in Waterville, the daughter of Norman A. and Barbara L. (Hill) Nelson. Avis loved life. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and her many lobster “tales.” She was an avid card and game player, and especially enjoyed writing humorous poetry. Avis is survived by her mother, Barbara Ronco of Dover-Foxcroft; a daughter, Dawn F. Davis of Raleigh, N.C.; three sisters, Nancy Burgoyne of Dover-Foxcroft, Ellen King and her husband, Darrell, of Newport and Betty Bridges and her husband, Earl, of Stetson; two stepbrothers, Douglas Ronco and his wife, Connie, of Winterport and Dana Ronco and his wife, Barbara, of Saco; a special brother-in-law, L.C. and family; many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her dear friend, Julie Mason. Avis was predeceased by her stepfather, Francis J. Ronco. Friends are invited to call 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, where a celebration of her life will be conducted 2 p.m. by Pastor Michele St. Cyr.
