B. ROLAND BABCOCK PHOENIX, Ariz. – B. Roland Babcock, 77, passed away Sept. 30, 2003. He was born on Dec. 6, 1925, in Bangor, to Harry B. Babcock and Eva Hope Babcock. Roland was a graduate of Bangor High School and the University of Maine. He served in the U.S. Army and Air Force. He was a World War and Korean War veteran. He was a recipient of military honors, including the Purple Heart, Bronze Star with Cluster, and Combat Infantry Badge. He was married to Jeanne Heartz of Bangor on June 22, 1947. Roland retired from Honeywell, Inc. He was a member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church, served on the Board of Directors of Phoenix Urban League, and the Board of Directors of Florence Crittendon Home. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; sons, Peter H. (Yolanda) Babcock of Marietta, Ga., Robert P. (Laura) Babcock of Plymouth, Minn., David S. (Dori) Babcock, Mequon, Wis., Christopher P. Babcock of Plymouth, Minn., Nathan R. Babcock of Plymouth, Minn., and great-grandson, Carson S. DeMoss of Marietta, Ga.
