MONSON – Barbara E. Kronholm, 85, died Feb. 6, 2007, of an unexpected illness, at C.A. Dean Hospital, Greenville. She was born June 9, 1921, in Guilford, daughter of Alexander and Minnie (Lovell) Nesbit. She attended Guilford schools and graduated from Guilford High School. She married Colby F. Kronholm, Nov. 8, 1941. She belonged to many civic organizations and was Piscataquis County democratic chairwoman for many years. She loved family gatherings and especially loved the grandchildren and the great-grandchildren. Barbara and her husband always enjoyed the neighborhood children and often had them over to their home, which was always a welcome place for family, friends and neighbors. Another favorite place for Barbara was their camp in Monson. She is survived by her husband of Monson; a son, Ronald Kronholm of Norridgewock; a daughter, Estella “Tootie” Bennett and her husband, Wayne, of Guilford; four grandchildren, Boyd and Wade Kronholm, Aaron and Adam Bennett; 12 great-grand-children; and a sister, Maxine Talon of Florida. She was predeceased by a brother, Halton. Graveside memorial services will be held in the spring at Lake Road Cemetery, Monson.
