SOMERS, Conn. – Norma Jean (Clay) Gregoire, 78, wife of 54 years to Robert Gregoire, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, surrounded by her loving family at her home. She was born Aug. 3, 1928, in Bangor, the daughter of the late Merle and Vera Clay. She was a graduate of Mattanawcook Academy in 1946 and Fisher College, Boston, in 1948. A resident of Somers, Conn., for the past 42 years, she owned and operated an antiques business for more than 35 years. She also worked for Country Casuals, Somers, Conn., as a salesperson until her retirement in 1995. Norma Jean was a parishioner of All Saints Church, Somersville, Conn. She is survived by her son, Robert Jr. and his wife, Heidi; her daughter, Susan Steadman and her husband, Douglas; her daughter, Karen Nickerson and her husband, James; and her son, James and his wife, Darcy; her grandchildren, Khristopher and Stephanie Gregoire, James and Megan Steadman, Chelsea and Stephen Nickerson; and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, Richard and his wife, Frances; several nieces and nephews. Norma Jean was predeceased by her son, Stephen; and her sister, Pauline (Clay) Lowell. Relatives and friends may call 5-8 p.m. Friday at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., Somers, Conn. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial which will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at All Saints Church, Somersville, Conn. Burial will be at West Cemetery, Somers, Conn.
