WINTERPORT and PORTLAND – Barbara G. Campbell, 80, wife of the late, Murray “Joe” Campbell and formerly of Portland, passed away July 5, 2005, at a Bangor healthcare facility after a long illness. She was born April 11, 1925, at Forest Hills, Mass., the daughter of Forrest I. and Lillian (Porter) Dwyer. Barbara graduated from Quincy High School, Quincy Mass., in 1944 and lived in Portland, for many years before moving to Winterport to be by her son and daughter-in-law. Barbara was a member of the Ellingwood’s Corner United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening and playing cards. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Terrence “Terry” and Carol Campbell of Winterport; a brother, Hollis P. Dwyer and his wife, Muriel, of Hyannis, Mass.; and a sister, Shirley N. Stone and her husband, Robert, of Anthony, Fla.; two grandchildren, Karyn Grass and her husband, Corey, of Orrington and John L. Campbell and his wife, Tammy, of Fort Hood, Texas; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and a sister-in-law, Anna Dwyer of Northbridge, Mass. She was predeceased by her husband of almost 50 years, Murray “Joe,” in 1999; and by two brothers, Irving and Carl. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2005, at the Ellingwood’s Corner United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chuck Langbein, pastor, officiating.
