ALEXANDER – Barbara J. Flood, 76, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007. Barbara was born April 20, 1931, in Baileyville, daughter of the late Edward and Charlotte (Thibodeau) Deane. She graduated from St. Croix High School, Class of 1948. On Sept. 14, 1949, she married Bernard P. Flood in Milltown. Barbara loved the Lord and enjoyed being active with area churches. She taught Sunday school in Alexander, Baileyville and Crawford. Barbara enjoyed bible study, visiting patients at local nursing homes, hunting and fishing. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two precious sons, Alan and Brian Flood; three sisters, Evelyn Hanson, Elizabeth Eaton and Edith Storey; and a brother, James Deane. Surviving are her loving husband of more than 58 years, Bernard Flood; a sister, Madeline Perkins and her husband, Leo, of Baileyville; three brothers, William Deane and his wife, Charlotte, of Calais, Lawrence Deane and his wife, Charlotte, of Baileyville and Everett Deane and his wife, Beverly, of Baileyville; a sister-in-law, Max-ine Dinkins and her husband, Hank, of Alexander; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Church of the Open Bible, Route 9, Alexander. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church with Pastors Chip Howell and Dwayne Waite officiating. Burial will be after at Alexander Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews, Terry and Ronald Dinkins of Carmel, Garry Dinkins of Bangor, Richard and Robert Flood, and Jeff Storey, all of Baileyville.
