BUCKSPORT – Barbara Lee Brown, 58, passed away unexpectedly, Oct. 5, 2003, at Maine Medical Center in Portland. She was born April 4, 1945, in Calais. She graduated from Higgins Classical Institute in 1963, and also from Naples Community College in Florida. She enjoyed working as a CNA-home healthcare nurse for several years in Florida. She also worked as a legal secretary for a large law firm in New Hampshire, and most recently at Bucksport Regional Health Center. In addition, she was a Pampered Chef consultant, something she did not consider a job because she had so much fun doing it. She loved gardening of any kind, flowers, vegetables, herbs, and found great joy in sharing her harvest and home-baked goods and home made crafts with others, especially shut-ins and elderly people. She gave to others generously and often. She also loved chatting on-line with her daughters, Teresa and Tammy, her niece, Jillian, and her friends. She had a great passion for yard sales, particularly when going with her sister Linda, or her friends, Joann or Fran. Barbara was a faithful member of the Bucksport Church of God, where she was a true servant of the Lord. She devoted herself to whatever ministry God called her to do, and always with a loving and giving spirit. She will be missed by the many people whose lives she touched while doing God’s work. Barbara was predeceased by her grandfather and grandmother, Theodore and Helen Mountain of Charleston. She is survived by two daughters, Teresa Clement of Mobile, Ala., and Tammy Clement of Corpus Christi, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Krystal, Jessica, Porche, William, Erica, Mercedes, Cedric II, and Desiree’, of Mobile, Ala., and Dominic and Breanna, of Corpus Christi, Texas; her parents, Warren and Norma (Mountain) Brown of Bucksport; a brother and sister in-law, Robert and Dorothy Brown of Bradenton, Fla.; a niece, Tasha Whiteford of Bradenton, Fla.; a sister and brother in-law, Linda and Gerald Lemmon of Orland; two nieces, Jennifer Merrill of Orrington, and Jillian Merrill of Bangor; and one great-niece and two great-nephews, Ashely, Jordan, and Braden; a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Luis Hernandez of Sarasota, Fla.; an uncle and aunt, Theodore and Jean Mountain of Charleston; a great aunt, Thelma Cookson, of Guilford; and many cousins. She will be dearly missed and always remembered by her best friend, Joann Eaton of Ellsworth. Visiting hours for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, where a Celebration of Barbara’s Life will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, with Pastor Ken Davenport officiating. A time of fellowship and refreshment will immediately follow the service at the Bucksport Church of God.
