Dover-Foxcroft police are asking for the public’s help identifying a vehicle after a 73-year-old Cambridge man was found dead on the side of a road Wednesday night.
According to the Dover-Foxcroft Police Department, Barry Lial’s body was found at about 8 p.m. on North Street.
Police at first said because of limited evidence they didn’t believe Lial’s death was caused by a hit-and-run crash, but after working with the Maine Medical Examiner’s Office and the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit North, they now believe he was struck by a vehicle as he crossed North Street.
Police released a video of a light-colored sedan that was traveling north on North Street between Summer Street and Winter Street. They said the vehicle may have hood and/or windshield damage.
Anyone with information about the vehicle or its occupants is asked to contact Sgt. Jeremy Rackliff at the Dover-Foxcroft Police Department at 207-564-8021, ext. 303.
