ELLSWORTH – Barbara Mae Tuite, 69, died Jan. 10, 2006, at an Ellsworth healthcare facility. She was born May 29, 1936, in Medford, Mass., the daughter of Earl and Mollie I. (Bohn) Nicholson. Barbara grew up in Darien, Conn. and married William Tuite in 1957 and moved to Ridgefield, Conn. shortly after and raised their family there prior to moving to Maine in 1973. She worked in the insurance industry for several years. Her hobbies included painting landscapes and portraits, gardening, sewing and knitting. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, William B. Tuite; two sons, Peter Tuite of Miami, Fla. and Sean Tuite of Bangor; two daughters, Nancy Tuite of Galveston, Texas and Elizabeth Wood and husband, Alan, of Ellsworth; a brother, William Nicholson of Newton, Conn.; and two sisters, Nancy Canto of Sarasota, Fla. and Marjorie Clark of Brooksville, Fla.; three grandchildren, Cyndi and Caitlin Wood and Madeline Tuite. She was predeceased by a son, William. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Ellsworth.
