HERMON – Beatrice A. “Bea” Mailman, 81, died Jan. 6, 2008, surrounded by her family at a Bangor hospital, after a short illness. She was born Oct. 15, 1926, in New Gloucester, the daughter of Leo and Dorothy (Owen) Heal. Bea was a former teacher and was active in Republican Party politics. She served as an alternate delegate at the National Republican Party Convention in Dallas, in 1984. She was an active member of Hammond Street Congregational Church for more than 25 years and was a member of the Milo Red Hat Society. She is survived by her husband of more than 59 years, Harold L. Mailman of Hermon; three children, Raymond Mailman and his wife, Pamela, of Linneus, Deanne and her husband, Butch Greenlaw Jr., of Alexander and Cynthia and her husband, Les Hunsinger, of Hermon; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, Caelum, MacKenzie, Brayden, Kathryn and Nicholas. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Lester Heal. A service of remembrance will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Hammond Street Congregational Church with the Rev. Dr. Mark Allen Doty, pastor, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments in the church vestry immediately after the service.
