BANGOR – Beatrice “Bea” Potter, 85, died Dec. 3, 2004, at her home. Beatrice was born Nov. 9, 1919, in Abbott, the daughter of David and Gladys (Patten) Weymouth. She attended Abbot schools and graduated in 1937 as valedictorian of her class. After her marriage to Donald Potter in 1940, they resided in Wilton for 16 years before moving to Bangor. She was a member of the Wilton Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. Bea was employed by the Penobscot County Soil and Water Conservation District as district office manager, from 1973 until her retirement in 1985. She had many friends among her coworkers, supervisors and others. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald in 1988; and two brothers, Lewis Weymouth and Everett “Wink” Weymouth. She is survived by a son, Burton Potter of Bangor; a daughter, Jane and her husband, Donald Goodness Jr., of Holden; a sister, Marjorie Decrow of Westbrook; and a brother, David Weymouth and his wife, Thelma, of Abbot; four grandchildren, Kristen Whynot and husband, Tim, of Bangor, Jennifer Potter of Portland, Brian and Emily Goodness of Holden; two great-grandchildren, Kara Beckwith of Bangor and Darryl Hagar of Portland; several cousins, nieces and nephews. At Bea’s request, there will be no funeral service. Arrangements by Memorial Alternatives, 1225 Broadway, Bangor.
