LIMESTONE – Belva O. “Dolly” Morris, 103, wife of the late Harry M. Morris, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, in Sun City Center, Fla. She was born July 30, 1904, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Austin A. and Levonia (Gilman) Barnes. She graduated from Fort Fairfield High School in 1922 and from Presque Isle Normal School in 1925. She was married to Harry M. Morris, Nov. 27, 1929, and taught grades one through eight at Noyes School, Limestone and Williard School, Caswell. Dolly started the first hot lunch program in Limestone at Noyes School and was a lifelong active member of Limestone United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Dorcas Circle. She was a member of Limestone Garden Club, Limestone Homemakers Extension, Limestone Grange, Order of the Eastern Star, Stella Chapter of Limestone, Limestone-Caswell Historical Society, Limestone Red Hat Society, and Limestone Senior Citizen Club, where she held numerous offices. She was honored by the town of Limestone by having the 2005-2006 Town Report dedicated to her and was awarded the Boston Post Golden Cane in 2001. Dolly was also named Woman of the Century in 2003 by Limestone Chamber of Commerce. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Cyrus A. and Brenda Morris of Limestone; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn M. Andrews of Yorklyn, Del., Lor-raine and Louis R.H. McLaughlin of Fort Fairfield, Wilma-Gene and William Parker of West Bowdoin; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles P. and Annes Barnes of Greenland, N.H.; 14 grandchildren and spouses, Reid and Kimberly McLaughlin of Holden, Richard and Paula McLaughlin of Elliot, Laura and Richard Adams of Eddington, Rodney and Vicki McLaughlin, Mark and Julie Phair, all of Levant, Carla Phair of New Sharon, Carrie Phair of Bangor, Claudia Phair of Bradley, David Phair, Robert and Stephanie Phair, all of Hermon, Lisa Parker and her husband, Erik Grove, of Parsonfield, Fredrick and Cheryl Parker of North Waterboro, Aaron and Adam Morris, both of Portland; 23 great-grand-children, three great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Dolly was predeceased by one daughter, Faye Phair; three brothers, Loomis, Harold “Jake” and Woodrow Barnes; and three sisters, Amy Knight, Levonia Barnes and Leona Berube. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Limestone United Methodist Church with the Pastor Ellen Cleaves officiating. Spring interment will take place at Webster Cemetery, Limestone. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held in the church reception area immediately after the funeral service.
