BANGOR – Benjamin Stephen Brown Tardiff, treasured son of Belinda and Thomas Palmer and Stephen Tardiff and his fiance, Pam Gonya, died Sept. 22, 2005, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born Aug. 20, 1979, in Bangor. Ben will be sadly missed and always remembered by all those he touched with his kind and generous spirit. Ben graduated from Brewer High School, Class of 1998, where he excelled in soccer and track and attended EMCC’s Building Construction and Fire Science Programs. He held many jobs in his short life and will be remembered for giving each his 100% effort. The jobs he loved most were those that he did in the outdoors, such as trimming Christmas trees, running heavy equipment, carpentry and most recently lobstering. In addition to his parents, Ben is survived by his best friend and brother, Tommy; and his little sister, Molly, whom he adored; Nana Marilyn Brown, Papa Leland Brown; most special Uncle Scott Brown, who was his constant sidekick and companion in mischief; Aunt Denise and Uncle Joe Shaw and a very special cousin, Matt Shaw, of Bangor, Uncle Ricky and Aunt Sally Tardiff of Bangor, Uncle Tommy and Aunt Stacie Tardiff and cousins, Joe and Tina Tardiff of Blaine, Aunt Julie Tardiff of Illinois; Grampa Thomas Palmer of Bangor; Uncle Ed and Aunt Jen Palmer and cousins, Abbey, Teddy, Margaret and Maddie, Aunt Anne Palmer Graham and Uncle Ron Graham and cousins, Drew, Cameron and Hunter; Uncle David Palmer, Aunt Suzie, Aunt Valerie and cousins, Emily, Alec and Jacqueline; his very special uncle Jim and Aunt Nancy Palmer; Ben’s girlfriend, Emma Misiaszek and Andrew and Lillian, all of whom he loved with all his heart and who loved him just the same. Justin and Jessica Gonya and baby, Alex; and his beloved pup, Tasha Marie. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Dick Tardiff; grandmother, Della Tardiff; aunts Laurie and Kelly; uncle, Tony; and cousin, Katie Shaw; and dear friend, Toddy. He leaves behind many friends, old and new, who will remember him with laughter, love and stories unfinished. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where a Memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Adam Soderberg, pastor of the East Orrington Congregational Church, officiating. Private interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer.
