PRESQUE ISLE – Bernice Curtis, 98, died Oct. 4, 2004, at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. She was born Jan. 31, 1906, in Easton, the daughter of Wilmot and Emma (Turner) Kennedy. She worked in Connecticut for 15 years, then farmed with her son, Gaylord Jr. in Easton, later she was employed by Vahlsing for 10 years. She is survived by six grandchildren, Monica Allen, Nora Boneville, both of Presque Isle, Joan Thomas of Virginia, Tony, Andy and Ricky Curtis, both of Connecticut; several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a special cousin, Dena Susee of Presque Isle. She was predeceased by her husband, Gaylord Curtis, Sr; her son and his wife, Gaylord and Phyllis Curtis, Jr.; two brothers and one sister. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Pine Tree Cemetery in Easton with the Rev. Carlos daCruz officiating. Arrangements in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle.
