PORTLAND – Bryan C. Daly, 65, died Wednesday evening, Sept. 22, 2004, at his friend’s farmhouse in Bowdoinham. He left this life surrounded by his loving children, Lisa and Kelvin Daly; their mother, Joan Daly; his sister, Brenda Too-mey; his mother, Margo Perkins and his dear friend, Diana Rudloe. Bryan was born in January of 1939 in Montclair, N.J. His life carried him to many places and a variety of jobs; most recently he lived and worked in Portland. Bryan enjoyed writing poetry, practicing martial arts and qigong, wilderness, nature, music and mysticism. His friends at Nichols and at the To-Shin Do dojo meant a great deal to him; he made those around him feel important and cared for. His warm heart, warm smile, and gentle sense of humor will be deeply missed. Remembrance services were held Saturday, Sept. 25, in Bowdoinham. The ashes will be interred at a later date at Woodbine Cemetery in Ellsworth. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to a charitable organization such as hospice, which has been of great help to Bryan and his family, or to the American Cancer Society.
