VAN BUREN and ST. LEONARD, N.B. – Bernice (St. Jean) Fournier, 91, died Jan. 7, 2004, at a Grand Falls, New Brunswick hospital. She was born in Grand Isle, Dec. 17, 1912, the daughter of Edmund and Agnes (Cyr) Corbin. She worked as a cafeteria cook in the Van Buren schools for 29 years. For the past 21 years, Mrs. Fournier had resided in St. Leonard, N.B. She is survived by two sons, Gerard St. Jean of Columbia, Conn. and Donald Fournier of Van Buren; one daughter, Rolande Gagnon of Glastonbury, Conn.; three stepsons, Reno Fournier of Edmundston, N.B.; Odeo Fournier of St. Anne, N.B., and Jacques Fournier of St. Jacques, N.B.; three stepdaughters, Rejeanne Fournier of Van Buren, Gaetane DiGiacinto of Fredericton, N.B. and Lisette Hutchins of Ottawa, Ontario; two brothers, Emery Corbin of Waterville and Paul Corbin of Hudson, N.H.; three sisters, Irene Thibodeau of Van Buren, Patricia Pelletier and Joan Corbin, both of East Windsor, Conn. She will also be remembered by special friends and neighbors, Rachel and Raymond Clavette of St. Leonard. She was predeceased by her first husband, Armand St. Jean in 1970 and by her second husband, Damase Fournier in 1986. Relatives and friends may call at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 12 High St., Van Buren, from 7-9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until time of service on Saturday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery.
