FALLON, NEV. – George C. Scott, 71, of Fallon, Nevada, passed away on Nov. 10, 2003, following a short illness. He was born Nov. 4, 1932 in Reed Plantation. George entered the U.S. Military in 1950. He spent several years in the 82nd Air Borne Division and the Third Armored Division. He also served in “The Big Red One” and the 11th Armored Calvary Division. He served two tours in Vietnam and received the Purple Heart. George retired as Command Sargent Major from the military in 1972. He is survived by his loving wife, Lila May Scott of 50 years; a son, Eddy Scott and his wife, Gail of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Gerry Toney and her husband, Jeff of Athens, Ga.; a granddaughter, Bree of Athens, Ga.; three sisters, Marie Hand and her husband, Kevin of Carmel, Winifred Peters of Hermon, Lucy Ouellette and her husband, Leroy of Arizona; one brother, Clarence Peters and his wife, Norma of Veazie; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, little George who passed away in 1992; his mother, Vivian M. Peters; his stepfather, Clarence A. Peters, and a brother, Victor C. Peters.
