HOULTON – Bert K. Wiggins, 85, died April 24, 2004, at a local healthcare facility. He was born March 22, 1919, at Houlton, the son of Stephen and Evelyn (Kneeland) Wiggins. Bert was a member of Military Street Baptist Church and a member of Houlton Odd Fellows for more than 50 years. He was a lifelong area farmer and custodian and bus driver for area schools. He is survived by one son, Stephen Almon Wiggins of St. Augustine, Fla.; two daughters, Lyla Evelyn Dow and Susan Mabel Begin, both of Houlton; one sister, Irene Claman of Hemet, Calif.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Ruth (McDougal) Wiggins in 1998; two brothers and one sister. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Dunn Funeral Home, where services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Randall Burns officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
