JONESPORT – Bertram W. Peabody, 69, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 18, 2004. He was born Dec. 12, 1934, at Beals. Bertram loved the water and fished for many years. He also loved the outdoors and camping with his wife and his best friend-his dog, Benji. He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Madelene E. (Tibbets) Peabody, of Jonesport; his children, Harvard Peabody and wife, Estelle, of Addison, Leslie Peabody and wife, Brenda, of Addison, Annette Ramirez and husband, Miguel of Harrington, Gregory Peabody, and fianc?e, Julie, of Marshfield, Milford Peabody and wife, Penny, of Whiting, Nadine Robinson, of Manchester, N. H., Dawn Peabody and friend, Shelly, of Jonesport, and Mary Look, and husband, Dale, of Columbia Falls; stepchildren, Virginia Quaid and husband, Bob, of Virginia, Linda Hatt and husband, Nolan, of Deblois, and Gary Tracy and wife, Debbie, of Columbia Falls; brothers, Earl Peabody and wife, Sylvia of Beals, and Gleason Peabody, of Waldoboro; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and very special friend, Dorothy Peabody of Beals. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary A. (Beal) Alley and Milford H. Peabody; a daughter, Ella Louise Peabody; and a son, Bertram E. “Beppie” Peabody. Visitation will take place 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, at the Sawyer Memorial Congregational Church in Jones-port. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 2004 at the church, officiated by Pastor George Woodward. A gathering will be held after the service with refreshments at the church.
