ORRINGTON – Bessie F. Frost, 88, beloved wife of the late Harry H. Frost, died Feb. 4, 2005, at an Orono healthcare facility. Bessie was born Jan. 7, 1917, in South Orrington, the daughter of Ora M. Goss and Sadie Ethel (Albee) Goss. Bessie was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Orrington where she was active in the Women’s Society. Bessie loved gardening, homemaking and care for her family including her favorite cat, Matilda. Throughout their marriage of 46 years, Bessie often helped Harry in his machine shop. She provided homecare for Harry for two years prior to his death in 1986. Bessie will be remembered for her kind heart and her deep appreciation of life’s simple pleasures. She endured many struggles in her life without complaint, an inspiration to all who knew her. In addition to her husband, Bessie was predeceased by her sister, Alice Brown; her brother, Raymond Goss; and her stepson, Walter Frost. She is survived by her sister, Doris Gerow of Bangor; her brother, Lester Goss of Florida; two stepdaughters, Mildred Jordan of Maryland and Vivian Heath of Florida, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at Memorial Alternatives, 1225 Broadway, Bangor, with the Rev. Richard Noyes officiating. All are welcome to share their fond remembrances. A spring interment will be held in Dean Hill Cemetery, Orrington.
