CASTLE HILL – Bessie G. Carmichael, 88, wife of the late Milford W. Carmichael, died Aug. 14, 2008, at a Caribou hospital. She was born April 6, 1920, in Woodland, the daughter of William and Grace (Newbegin) McEachern. She was baptized at and was a member of Castle Hill Advent Christian Church. In addition she had been employed at Potato Service, Pres-que Isle; Loring Air Force Base Laundry Service; and Taterstate, Washburn. Surviving her are five sons, William Carmichael of Presque Isle, Milford Carmichael Jr.and his wife, Linda, of Houlton, Marshall Carmichael of Washburn, Rodney Carmichael and Harley Carmichael, both of Castle Hill; daughters, Vernna Alley of Caribou, Annette Keenan of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Norma Jean Sharp of Castle Hill, Linda Tarbox of Georgia and Pearl Moyer of Deltona, Fla.; a brother, Perley McEach-ern and his wife, Rilla, of New Brunswick, Canada; sisters, Mar-ion Cochran and her friend, Wayne Green, of Oakland and Joyce Savoy and her husband, Clarence, of Farmington; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Her little dog companion, Bear, will also sadly miss her. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with Pastor Lucy Lovley officiating.
