MADAWASKA – Bessie Pickard, 95, died April 14, 2007, at a Madawaska nursing home. She was born Nov. 27, 1911, in Woodland, the daughter of Henry and Carrie (Lane) Johnson. She is survived by two daughters, Judith LaGassie and her husband, Eugene, of Madawaska and Maralie O’Brien of Augusta; five grandchildren, Mark, Steve and Scott O’Brien, Brian and Peter LaGassie; four great-grandchildren. Bessie was predeceased by her husband, Harry D. Pickard. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Daigle Funeral Home. Friends and relatives may call 11 a.m. until noon Thursday. Interment will be at United Church Cemetery, Edmundston, New Brunswick, later in the spring.
