VEAZIE and ORONO – Betsy Ruth Bagley, 55, passed away Nov. 15, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Oct. 12, 1952, in Bangor, the daughter of Holand E. and Barbara (Smith) Bagley. Betsy loved everyone and was loved by everyone. She had a positive attitude about life and always had a smile even for people she did not yet know. She loved horses, dancing, singing and listening to country music. Her favorite singer was Dwight Yoakam and her favorite color was red, so think of her when you see something red. She is survived by her mother, Barbara of Bangor; her sister and husband, Mary and Tom Skaggs of Old Town; three brothers and their wives, David Bagley and Mary, Harvey Bagley and Marion, all of Veazie and Robert Bagley and Michelle of Glenburn; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, three aunts and many friends. She was predeceased by her grandparents and her father. Betsy has gone to heaven to be with her “dada.” The family thanks the doctors and nurses at Eastern Maine Medical Center intensive care unit for their wonderful care of Betsy during the past week. We also thank the staff at Orono Commons for their kindness and compassion while taking care of her. Lastly, we are extremely grateful to the staff at Commonsense Housing for everything they did for Betsy while she was in their care. She truly blossomed during that time of her life. Friends may call 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Brookings-Smith, LaBeau Chapel, 72 Main St., Orono, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, with Pastor David Fox of Veazie Congregational Church, officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Veazie. If you would like to remember Besty in a special way, gifts in her memory may be sent to Commonsense Housing, 15 Riverside Drive, Eddington, ME 04428.
