DEXTER – Betty Lou Duplisea, 80, passed Dec. 19, 2007, surrounded by her loving family at her daughter’s home after a short illness. Betty was born Sept. 13, 1927, to Robert W. Hamilton Sr. and Rose (Richardson) Hamilton. Among many other jobs she owned and operated with her husband, Raymond, Maple Leaf Boarding Home. Together they provided a loving home for many elderly people for years. Betty had many talents. She enjoyed many crafts and got pleasure from sewing clothes for her family. She loved the outdoors and gardening. She and Raymond spent many happy hours on the water fishing in their boat exploring various lakes. She was always on the look out for yard sales to get the “bargain of the day.” Betty was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Raymond Duplisea, who passed Dec. 29, 2006. Betty is survived by her five children, Pamela and husband, Roger Woodard, Craig and Sue Duplisea, Glen and Jolene Duplisea, Denise Eaton and Darran Duplisea; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert W. Hamilton Jr. of Councel Bluff, Iowa; and sister, Elaine Nelson of Canaan. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Sugar. Per her request, there will be no visiting hours. Family memorial services will be held in the spring.
