SEATTLE – Betty (Lovely) Atkinson died April 13, 2007, in Seattle. She was born Nov. 10, 1942, the daughter of Aubrey and Edna (Kinney) Lovely of Fort Fairfield, but raised by her aunt and uncle, Ruth K. and Donald L. Robbins. She attended Fort Fairfield schools prior to her training at Burdette School of Business, Boston. She moved to Seattle soon after her graduation and had live there since. She is survived by her husband, Larry Atkinson; daughter, Carol and son-in-law, Kelly Vance; a beloved grandson, Fox King; her stepdaughter, Marnie and her husband, Clyde Haynes; two children, Ciera and Jayden, who will miss her attentive participation in their lives. Betty was predeceased by three brothers, Thomas, Robert and Clayton. She is survived by several siblings, Richard and Shirley Lovely of Rochester, N.H., Leo and Theresa Lovely of East Livermore Falls, Rose and Jerry Fisher of Winterport, Glyn and Cheryl Lovely of Presque Isle; many nieces and nephews. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and a wide circle of friends, especially by the dinner group that had been meeting in each other’s homes throughout the years. Betty will be remembered for many things, but most of all for her courageous attitude in dealing with cancer. She fought to live life without compromise until the very end when she died peacefully surrounded by her immediate family at the Seattle Hospice Center.
