DANFORTH – Eva (Huff) Fifield, 95, died April 14, 2007, at a Houlton hospital after a short illness. She was born Dec. 15, 1911, the daughter of Lewis and Alice (Meagher) Huff. She was a lifelong resident of Danforth. She graduated from Danforth High School, Gorham Normal School and the University of Maine in Orono. She taught at Danforth schools until she retired in 1970. She enjoyed her family, gardening, walking, climbing Mount Katahdin, birds and traveling. She was a communicant of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Fifield. She is survived by two daughters, Ann Bradley and her husband, Tim, of Danforth and Mary Coombs and her husband, Earl, of Winslow; two granddaughters and their husbands, Jonna and John Hunter of Huntington Station, N.Y., and Renee and Michael Sweeney of Chicopee, Mass.; a very special great-grandson, “Ned” Hunter; some nephews and cousins. The family especially thanks the caregivers at Houlton Regional Hospital; and those at her home, Frances Lee, Connie McEwen, Angelia Whitlock, Lydia Preston and Una Cropley. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at St. Anne’s Church with the Rev. Roger Cyr officiating. There will be no visiting hours at her request. Interment will be later in the spring at Hilltop Cemetery, Danforth. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may make donations to St. Anne’s Church, P.O. Box 98, Danforth, ME 04424.
