DEXTER – Erwin E. “Moose” Edgecomb, 61, died April 13, 2007, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born Feb. 15, 1946, in Limestone, son of James and Gertrude (Burgess) Edgecomb. He worked at Dexter Shoe Co. for 17 years and later worked at Hartland Tannery for several years, until his retirement. He was a past member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 65, Dexter. Erwin was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and four-wheeling, which he enjoyed with his friends, the Perkins family. He also loved draft horses and horse pulling. He is survived by four sisters, Doris Hartford and her husband, Ronald, of North Dexter, Betty Tremblay and her husband, Charles, of Newport, Brenda Watson of Sangerville and Cindy Simonds and her friend, John Reynolds, of Corinna; special sister-in-law, Beverly Edgecomb of Dexter; many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew and his wife, Michael and Tina Tremblay of Newport, who were also his caregivers during his illness; and many special friends. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Mary Chabot and Sarah Levasseur; two brothers, Sonny and James. A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 19, at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main St., Dexter, with Pastor David Ray Sr. officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
