MILLINOCKET – Edgar N. Landry, 79, died peacefully Saturday, April 14, 2007, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor. He was born Nov. 12, 1927, in Millinocket, the son of Alex and Anna (Boutot) Landry. Edgar attended Millinocket schools, before going to work on the C.C. Road, now called the Brownville Road. He worked at Great Northern Paper, Millinocket, before joining the Army and serving for three years. He then returned to Millinocket, where he resumed working at Great Northern Paper, as a machine tender for more than 40 years. In 1964, after taking night classes, he graduated from Stearns High School. Edgar was a member of American Legion Post No. 80 and B.P.O.E. No. 1521, Millinocket, and the Maine Snowmobile Association. He was also a communicant and former choir member at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. He also belonged to the Millinocket Players, taking part in productions of “Li’l Abner” and “South Pacific.” Edgar greatly enjoyed fishing, ice fishing and snowmobiling. He loved spending time with his family and living in the Greater Millinocket area and especially spending time at his camp on Ambejejus Lake, Millinocket. Edgar is survived by three sons, Richard M. Landry and his wife, Lee Ann Goddard, of Millinocket, Robert Landry and his wife, Catherine, of East Millinocket and Bruce Landry and his wife, Linda, of Rochester, N.H.; eight brothers, Martin Landry of Sacramento, Calif., Phil Landry of Cromwell, Conn., Alex Landry of Houston, Pat Landry of Millinocket, Ray Landry of San Antonio, Rudy Landry of East Millinocket, Michael Landry of Portland, Conn., and Leroy Landry of Howland; eight grandchildren, Heather Baine, Aaron Landry, Gered Landry, Robbie Landry, Shawn Landry, Eric Firkey, Lisa Kennedy and Kristine Sullivan; eight-greatgrandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Edgar will also be missed by special friends and neighbors, Gloria Morneault, the Amoes family and Don and Joyce Dow. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Mary J. (Coffin) Landry; a sister, Alexine Tinkham; and a lifelong friend, Ed Morneault. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Bouchard-Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where a rosary service will be held 7 p.m. by the Daughters of Isabella, Little Flower Circle. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 112 Maine Ave., Millinocket. Spring interment will be at Millinocket Cemetery, Millinocket.
