CORINTH and ST. LOUIS, Mich. – Beulah M. Thrush, 87, wife of the late Wilford F. Thrush, died Jan. 17, 2007, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born April 25, 1919, in Blackstone, Va., the daughter of David and Rosa (Ritter) Wells. Beulah was a graduate of Alma High School in 1940 and at age 50 in 1969, she fulfilled her life long dream of becoming a licensed practical nurse. Beulah was a member of the First Church of God, Alma, Mich., and St. Louis, Mich., where she was a Sunday school teacher, choir member who performed solos, and did chalk talks. After retiring to Branford, Fla., she became a member of the Branford Baptist Church, where she continued her faith. In 1999 she relocated with family to Corinth where she attended Corinth United Methodist Church. She is survived by four children, Richard O. Thrush, John Thrush and his wife, Shirley, all of Alma, Mich., Aleta Thrush-Lott and her husband, David, of Mount Pleasant, Mich., and Linda Thrush-Small and her husband, Ron, of Corinth; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one grandson, Brian Lee Thrush; five brothers, Maurice, Harley, Lester, Donald “Jack” and Harold; and three sisters, Gladha, Martha and Irene. The family expresses their gratitude to the staff of Ross Manor and several home care agencies for their loving and compassionate care shown to Beulah. A spring memorial service will be held in St. Louis, Mich. A service of Memorial Alternatives, 205 Center St., Bangor.
