SURRY – Beulah May McAlpine, 76, died Jan. 21, 2005, at her home in Surry. She was born March 24, 1927, in Brooklin, the daughter of Walter E. Pierce and Olivia May Tainter. She was a member of the Surry Fire Company. She was a hard worker, and enjoyed working outside and enjoyed her horses and her dogs. She is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Roland “Rollie” McAlpine of Surry; son, Royce and wife, Carol McAlpine, of Eastbrook; daughters, Doris and husband, Robert Barter, of Surry, and Kathleen and husband, John Eavly, of Orland; two sisters, Jeanette Haddlock of Ellsworth, and Doris Stickney and husband, Paul, of Fortmeed, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; nephews, Donald Pierce of Powell River, British Columbia, Vinal and Sylvia Tainter of Ellsworth, Alwood Tainter of Yuba City, Calif.; nieces, Louise and Doug Stover, Sandy and Steve Gray of Blue Hill and Tina Tapley of Gouldsboro. She was predeceased by a sister, Grace Tapley; and a brother, Vinal Tainter The family invites friends to visiting hours 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth.
