MACHIAS – Karl Hall, 97, went to be with his Lord, May 8, 2005, at a Machias Healthcare facility after a brief illness. He was born Dec. 12, 1907, in Machias, the son of Llewellyn and Sarah (Foss) Hall. A lifelong resident of Machias, he was a member of the Kennebec Baptist Church. For many years he worked in the woods, worked on the railroad and was employed at and retired from the University of Maine at Machias. Karl, along with his wife Eva, looked forward to planting their flowers and sharing them with family and friends. He is survived by his twin sons, Roger L. Hall and his wife, Genie, of Machias, and Karl C. Hall and his wife, Marlene, of Machias; four grandchildren, Matthew and his wife, Suzanne, Meagan, Marcus, and Micah; and two great-grandchildren, Adam and Evan. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 74 years, Eva, in 2002; a daughter, Leitha; and a sister, Vaughn. At Karl’s request, there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at 2 p.m. at the West Kennebec Cemetery in Machias. Arrangements are under the care of Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Machias.
