AUGUSTA – Beverly G. McGary, 79, of Ganneston Drive, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta. She was born Oct. 31, 1926, in Yarmouth, Mass., the daughter of J. Arthur and Madeline (Morton) Green. Beverly graduated from Farmington High School, Class of 1944 and attended the University of Maine, in both Orono and Farmington. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Kennebec Valley Garden Club, where she held several offices, and also the Maine State Garden Club. She was active in community affairs and fundraisers. Beverly took pride in her home and enjoyed traveling. She was predeceased by her husband, Carlton D. McGary, Dec. 29, 2004. She is survived by two sons, Alan D. McGary and his wife, Debra, of Manchester and C. Scott McGary of Auburn; a daughter, Deborah Nichols and her husband, Wayne, of Cross Lake; three brothers, Don L. Green and his wife, Beula, of Brunswick, Richard Green and his wife, Betty, of Topsham, Joe Green and his wife, Arlette, of Brooksville, Fla.; five grandchildren, Stephanie McGary, Jessica McGary, Cameron McGary, Benton McGary and Colby Brann; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visiting will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, One Church Street, Augusta, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday.
