NEWPORT – Beverly S. Oldenburg, 74, died Oct. 21, 2005, at a Pittsfield nursing home, after a long illness. She was born Sept. 18, 1931, in Newport, the daughter of James Howard and Edna (White) Seavey Sr. She graduated from Newport High School, Class of 1949. Beverly had been employed as telephone operator, a crossing guard and in the hot lunch program at Newport Elementary School. She is survived by two sons, Tracy and wife, Tammy Oldenburg, of Newport and Rick Oldenburg of Arizona; a daughter, Denise “Deedee” and husband, Ned Herrold, of Florida; three brothers, Howard Sr., Lyle, and Larry Seavey, all of Newport; a grandson, Brandon Oldenburg, also of Newport. She was predeceased by her husband, Edgar in 2003. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Newport, with the Rev.
