HOULTON – Billy Wayne Hanning, 52, died unexpectedly Feb. 5, 2008, at his residence. He was born April 22, 1955, in Houlton, the son of Kenneth Hanning and Donna I. (Michaud, Hanning,) MacDonald. Billy enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, made several trips to New Hampshire to visit friends and go to Bike Week and NASCAR races. He joined the National Guard in Oklahoma and then in Houlton after moving home. Billy is survived by two sons, Robert Douglas Hanning and his friend, Angelia, and Brian Wayne Devoe, all of Houlton; one daughter, Billie Jean; one granddaughter, Emma Marie Devoe; six brothers, Ken and his wife, Millie, George, Gordon, Gerry and Rodney, all of Houlton, and Fred of Bangor; seven sisters, Gloria Prentiss and her husband, Robert, of Florida, Brenda Friedman, Sharon Hanning, Sheila Bither, Dorothy Hanning, Leslie Hanning, all of Houlton, and Mary Ross and her husband, Scott, of Rhode Island. He is also survived by his many friends. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Dunn Funeral Home. Friends may call 11 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
