ST. AGATHA – Blanche Collin, 84, died June 11, 2005, at a Madawaska Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 23, 1920, in St. Agatha, the daughter of Joseph and Deline (Chasse) Bosse. She gave much love and respect as a remarkable role model for her family and friends. Blanche worked as a cook for the Daughters of Wisdom in St. Agatha for 16 years and then for the Ste. Agathe Historical Society as house receptionist during the summer months. She was instrumental in transcribing data for the society’s genealogical collection and organizing the Chez-Nous exhibit featured at the Maine State Museum in the early 1990’s, later she worked for the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Service as an employment support counselor where she retired at the age of 76. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne, and was chosen Mother of the Year in 2002. She is survived by four sons, and their wives, Emile and Murielle, of Frenchville, Roland and Mae of Fort Kent, Robert and Frances of St. Agatha and Philip of Portland; three daughters and their husbands, Claudette and Emery Dionne of Sinclair, Jacqueline and Edward LeVasseur of Madawaska, Cecile and Donald Fontaine of Portland; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Herve and Corrine of Plainville, Conn.; four sisters, Sister Martha, of Ottawa, Canada, Theresa and Bob Bushway, Joan and David Olievera, all of Plainville, Jeanne and Conrad Cyr of St. David. She was predeceased by her husband, Claude Collin; and one grandson, Curtis Collins; eight brothers, Adrien, Joseph, Armand, Alphee, Lawrence, Valere, Wallace, Louis; and one sister, Lillian. Friends and relatives may call 7-9 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2005, at the Michaud Funeral Home, in St. Agatha and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Agatha Catholic Church with the Rev. Phil Cyr and her grandson, the Rev. Paul Dumais officiating.
