ISLESBORO – Brenda A. Craig, 48, passed away July 2, 2008, at Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston. During her lifetime she fought diabetes and was a recipient of a kidney transplant. Despite her diabetes, she was able to keep the circle of life going by being an organ donor herself. She was born Dec. 6, 1959, daughter of Pamela B. and Robert Leach Jr. She enjoyed sharing political views and writing, by being the publisher of Islesboro Island News. Brenda was a proud mother and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She liked being a hostess of many gatherings and took a great interest in foreign cooking and foods. She would enjoy having people stop by and sit on the porch of their home to talk and laugh. Brenda is survived by her husband, Mark Craig of Islesboro; daughter, Alexandra Craig of Islesboro; her father, Robert Leach Jr. and his wife, Connie, of Islesboro; three brothers, Robert Leach III and wife, Dorothy, of Broadbrook, Conn., Joshua Leach and wife, Sonya, of Islesboro and Andrew Leach of Islesboro; and sister, Tara Leach of Islesboro. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Pamela B. Leach of Stafford Springs, Conn.; sister, Diana Stager of Connecticut; nep-hew, Christopher DuPerry of Canton, Conn.; and grandparents, Robert and Edna Leach of Crystal Lake, Conn. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at Maple Grove Cemetery, Islesboro. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
