FAIR OAKS RANCH, Texas – Brian D. Armstrong, 40, passed away at his home in Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, on Nov. 21, 2003. Brian was born May 24, 1963, in Bangor. He was a loving husband and father. Brian was raised in Carmel, until the family moved to San Antonio, Texas, in 1973. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and attended U.T. in Austin, Texas. Brian was dedicated to the family business learning the craft of shoemaking from his father. Brian survived a serious brain operation in 1993. He loved life and was an avid enthusiast of sports and the “best ever” Spurs fan. He loved music, animals and especially his beloved dog Shadow. Brian is survived by his wife, Julia Armstrong; his children, Sean and Calista, who meant the world to him; his parents, Terry and Regina-mom who was his best friend “Gene;” his sister, Lisa Armstrong; sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Travy Remmert. He loved his nieces and nephews who include Tyler, Chloe and Audrey Remmert, Emily and Austin Latimer, Yanira, little Rudy and Marissa DeLaCruz, Chiquin, Emily and Eric Salinas, Monica and China Briones, and Veronica and Kelsey Arguello. Surviving uncle and aunts, Clint Parsons, Priscilla Small and Ruth Rambo of Bangor, and Lenora Small of San Antonio, Texas. Brian leaves behind so many other loving family members and friends, especially those at SAS. Visitation will be held 8 a.m. until 12 noon Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Porter Loring Mortuary North. A celebration of life will be 6 p.m. Monday at the SAS Gymnasium, 1717 SAS Drive. Services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Porter Loring North Chapel, with the Rev. John H. Payne officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Bereavement Center, 332 W. Craig Place, San Antonio, TX 78212. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North.
