MAPLETON and FORT FAIRFIELD – Brian G. Fields, 49, husband of Mrs. Eileen M. Fields, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at his Mapleton residence. He was born Aug. 12, 1956, in Fort Fairfield, the son of George F. and Barbara A. (Lovely) Fields. Brian graduated from the Fort Fairfield High School in 1974 and had been employed as an ironworker and was a member of the Local No. 496 Union of IronWorkers of Portland, having retired in 2004 after 30 years of employment. Brian was married to Eileen M. Beaulieu June 18, 1983, and will be remembered as an avid reader, gardener, sportsman and a great cook, well known for his “Shorey Fries.” He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Brian was predeceased by his father, George F. Fields, Jan. 2, 1988; and by an infant sister, Diane Lee Fields. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Mrs. Eileen M. Fields of Mapleton; two daughters, Tina Bubar and her husband, Steve, of Fort Fairfield, Amber Fields and her special friend, Chris Boucher, both of Mapleton; his mother, Barbara A. (Lovely) Fields of Presque Isle; brother and sister-in-law, Jeffrey L. and Helen Fields of West Gardiner; one granddaughter, Hattie Bubar of Fort Fairfield; two brothers-in-law, Donald Beaulieu and his wife, Margaret, of Caribou, Lee Beaulieu and his wife, Sylvia, of Woodland; three sisters-in-law, Diane Belanger and her husband, John, Peggy Beaulieu, all of Caribou, Patricia Tuttle and her husband, Brett, of Presque Isle; one godson, Tyler Beaulieu; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at the Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2006, at the Celebration Center, Houlton Road, Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. The Fields family invites relatives and friends to join them in continued fellowship and refreshments at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6178, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield, immediately after the interment service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Brian to the Amber Fields Education Fund, 38 Hughs Rd., Mapleton, ME 04757. Envelopes will be available at both the funeral home and church.
