LITCHFIELD – Bruce C. Small, 53, of Litchfield died Nov. 14, 2003. He was born June 7, 1950, in Hartland, the son of Walter and Marilyn (Whitman) Small. He was a graduate of Maine Central Institute, Pittsfield, and Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, Bangor. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps serving in Vietnam. Bruce was Southern Regional Ranger, Department of Conservation, Division of Forest Protection. He was devoted to the Forest Service for 30 years. Survivors include daughters, Amy Small in Watertown, Mass., and Erin Small in Milford; their mother, Deborah Tucker Small, who was previously married to Bruce for 27 years in Freeport; his parents, Walter and Marilyn Small of Pittsfield; a brother, Dale Small of Pittsfield; sisters, Regina Staples of Plymouth, Jolene Deering of Hampden, and Geneva Peck of Hughesville, Pa.; his companion, Leslie Wiles of Litchfield; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, 35 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Faith Evangelical Free Church, 250 Kennedy Memorial Drive, Waterville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bruce Small Memorial Fund, care of Office of the Governer, 1 State House Station, Augusta, ME 04333-0001.
