HAMPDEN – Bruce D. Reynolds, 57, husband of Catherine M. (Deperry) Reynolds, died unexpectedly Sept. 2, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Nov. 29, 1948, in Attleboro, Mass., the son of Homer E. and Hattie C. (Ray) Reynolds. Bruce graduated from East Providence High School and the University of Maine with a bachelor’s in wildlife management and a master’s in business administration. He served with the Maine Air National Guard from 1970 to 1976, flying as a navigator on the F-101. He was employed by Abbott Laboratories for 32 years, retiring as a senior sales representative. Bruce was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and had a great appreciation for the woods and wildlife. He was a devoted New England sports enthusiast who loved watching the Maine Black Bears, the Red Sox and the Patriots. Bruce was predeceased by his father, Homer E. Reynolds. He is survived by his wife of 35 years of Hampden; his mother of East Providence, R.I.; one daughter, Dr. Alice Briones and her husband, Jesus, of Rochester, N.Y.; a sister, Cynthia Black and her husband, Orson “Bill,” of East Providence, R.I.; two sisters-in-law, Jean Bartley of Shippensburg, Pa., and Donna Deperry of Madawaska; two nephews, Roger Bartley of Bristol, Conn., and Dr. Christopher Black of West Warwick, R.I. He was well respected and will be remembered by a wide circle of friends. Family and friends may visit 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Richard Woehr, presiding. The family would like to honor Bruce by asking those attending to dress casually. Burial with military honors will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden.
