OLD TOWN – Bruce Lisle Crothers, 49, died June 4, 2006, after a brief illness, at his home. He was born May 3, 1957, in Brockton, Mass., the son of the late Donald and Bertha (Trowsdale) Crothers. He was raised in Hanover, Mass. until he moved to Manchester, in 1970. He graduated from Winthrop High School and then worked in several central Maine restaurants and was a musician for several local bands. Prior to his illness, he was employed as a baker for Bell’s IGA in Orono. He is survived by his companion, Yvette Fairbrother of Old Town; two brothers, Marshall C. Crothers of Sidney and James K. Hunt of Hanover, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 8, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A service of remembrance will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 9, at the Pleasant Street United Methodist Church of Waterville with the Rev. David Glusker officiating. Interment will be in Hanover, Mass.
