WESTFIELD – Burton LeRoy Fulton Sr., 82, died peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 30 2004. He was born Oct. 28, 1922, in Mars Hill, the son of Leo and Olive (Boyd) Fulton of Westfield. Burton attended school in Westfield and at the age of 17 enlisted in the U.S. Army for service during World War II. During his time in the Army he was in France, Belgium, and finally Germany. After his service Burton worked for several years for Central Motors and Pierce’s Service Station in Mars Hill. He was also employed at Valhsing’s and McCain’s in Easton until his retirement in October of 1987. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved gardening. He is survived by six children, a son, Burton L. Fulton Jr. and his wife, Judy, of Livington, Texas, five daughters, Patricia Gardiner of Lincoln, Cheryl McCann and her husband, Tim, of Florence, S.C., Naomi Little and her husband, Larry, of Linneus, Bonnie Davenport of Fort Fairfield, Nancy Fulton of Westfield; eight grandchildren, James Gardiner and Cindy of Westfield, Jene (Fulton) Fuentes of Moreno Valley, Calif., Rose (Fulton) Veneklasen and her husband, Tom, of Tucson, Ariz., Kimberly (Davenport) Hastings and her husband, Spenser, of Gahanna, Ohio, Randy Davenport Jr. of Fort Fairfield, Matthew Davenport and Cindy of Caswell, Brian Little and his wife, Ali, of Portland, Jason Little and his fianc?e, Janet, of Linneus; five great-grand-children, Nathaniel Fuentes of Moreno Valley, Calif., Jackson, Nolan and Ximei Veneklasen of Tucson, Ariz., a new one- month old great-grandson, Thomas Connor Hastins of Gahanna, Ohio. He is also survived by a sister, Alma Ryder of Westfield; a brother, Rutherford Fulton and his wife, Ernestine, of Westfield and several loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Burton was predeceased by his loving wife, Hope E. (Vantassel) Fulton; a brother, Harden Fulton and a granddaughter, Joanna Gardiner. At Burton’s request there will be no funeral services. Those who wish may make contributions in Burton’s memory to their church or charity of one’s choice.
