FORT KENT and SEBRING, Fla. – Byron A. Young, 84, passed away Feb. 17, 2007, in Sebring Fla. He was born Aug. 6, 1922, in Garfield Plantation, the son of George and Annie (Weaver) Young. He attended the University of Maine at Orono, made his living as a farm supply dealer, potato broker and hardware store owner. He also served the Fort Kent community, as school board chairman, Rotary Club president and chamber of commerce member; and the Sebring, Fla. community as a director of the homeowner’s association of the residence park where he and Theresa resided throughout the past 20 years. He is survived by a loving family including his wife of 60 years, Theresa Young; his children, Gail Reich, George Young, Robert Young and Thomas Young; six grandchildren, three great-grand-children; and his sister, Helen Danforth. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held 10 a.m. June 9, at the Christ Congregational Church, Pleasant Street, Fort Kent with Pastor John Woodward officiating. After the memorial service, a committal service will be held at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Kent. Arrangements are being coordinated by Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
