MONROE – Byron E. Maddocks, 62, passed away May 7, 2008, at Waldo County Hospital, Belfast. He was born Sept. 26, 1945, in Belfast, son of Norman E. and Geneva (Small) Maddocks. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Byron was a member of VFW No. 3108, American Legion and Garfield Oddfellows of Winterport. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Eugene Maddocks; niece, Heidi Bowden; and sister-in-law, Jan Maddocks. Byron is survived by his wife of 34 years, Nancy A. Maddocks of Monroe; children, Rosemarie Hill and husband, David, of Dixmont, Raymond E. Maddocks and wife, Lily, of Morrill and Mark A. Maddocks and wife, Christina, of Monroe; brother, John A. Maddocks and wife, Nancy, of Stockton Springs; twin brother, Brian E. Maddocks of Hampden; five grandchildren, David Eric Dooley, Samuel, Abby and Sarah Hill and Dominic Maddocks; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Donald Nickerson, Harold “Skip” Murphy, Edwin Johnson Sr. and Forrest Dunham; and many others. Family and friends are invited to call 1-2 p.m. Monday, May 12, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. with Pastor Murray Davis officiating.
