WASHBURN – Calvin F O’Clair, 51, passed away unexpectedly at his home Jan. 1, 2007. He was born March 12, 1955, in Washburn, the son of Anna (Drost) Springer. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and papa. Calvin served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Ray Goding Post No. 88 American Legion and the Hayward Frazier Post No. 2599 VFW. Calvin was an outdoorsman, never more at home than in the woods. He loved working with his hands; he could build or restore most anything including antique tractors, a passion of his in later years. He was predeceased by his grandparents, John and Virginia Drost, who raised him as their own son. Surviving him is his loving wife, Jacqlyn (Ireland) O’Clair of Washburn; a daughter, Heidi Jo O’Clair-Thompson and her husband, Jason, of Easton; a son, Calvin F. O’Clair II of Gillette, Wyo.; two granddaughters, who were the light in his eyes, Abigail and Emily O’Clair-Thompson; sisters and brothers, Debbie Corey of Washburn, Nancy Legassie of Ashland, Penny Scott and husband, Russell, of Washburn, Donald Drost and wife, Faye, of Carson Siding, Jack Drost and wife, Bunny, of Sullivan, Bernice Farley Pelletier of Washburn, Sonny Drost and wife, Jean, of Washburn, Judy Drost and husband, Willie, of Washburn, and John Drost and wife, Debbie, of Washburn; sisters-in-law, Shirley Drost and Rena Corriveau Drost; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his birth mother, Anna (Drost) Springer; brothers, Leland Drost of Washburn, Glenwood (Duke) Drost of Washburn, Roland Drost Sr. of Presque Isle; sister, Ketter (Drost) Akerson of Washburn. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Graveside services will be held later in the spring at the Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Caribou, with the Rev. Bruce Blakney officiating.
