EAGAN, Minn., and ORONO – Cameron C. Chute passed away unexpectedly Feb. 4, 2007, in Salt Lake City. Cameron was born Jan. 7, 1957, in Bangor, loving son of Dr. Harold and Marion B. Chute of Orono. He graduated from Orono High School, a star high hurdler and proficient alto and tenor saxophone player. He began his lifelong love of aviation by attending and graduating with high honors from East Coast Aero Technical College, Lexington, Mass., in May 1978, and was awarded a fully certified airframe and power plant license, at the beginning of his aviation career. He worked at Hanscom Field, Hanscom, Mass., and also with Capitol Air of Boston, and held a private pilot’s license for many years. Cameron met his loving wife, Carla Planck in Boston and married Aug. 8, 1981, in Jackson, N.H. Cameron worked for Northwest Airlines in Minneapolis for more than 24 years, and touched the lives of many Northwest employees throughout his career. His great sense of humor, kindhearted and caring mannerisms will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Cameron had been working with the FAA in Salt Lake City since September 2006. He was a member of the Order of DeMolay and enjoyed playing on the basketball team statewide. He was a 32nd degree Mason in the Southern Jurisdiction and was raised a master Mason in Mechanics Lodge No. 66, Orono, where he also received his 25-year membership pin. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Carla Chute; his parents, Harold and Marion Chute of Orono; sisters, Pamela Chute of Brewer, Hazel and husband, Alan Richard and their daughters, Courtney and Alanna Richard, of Arundel; sisters-in-law, Cheryl and husband, Jim Arney and family, Sheila and husband, Steven Pellerin and family, and Donna and husband, Fred “Tommy” Day and family; brother-in-law, Cary and wife, Eileen Planck and family; and his beloved dog and faithful companion, Glacier “Mr. G.” A celebration of his life was held Feb. 16, in Eagan, Minn.
